Mystery Novels

"And All That Murder" & "And All That Sea"
are the first
two novels in the Casey McKie mystery series. Casey is a San
Francisco-based private investigator whose best friend is Dee Jefferson,
a jazz singer and club owner.
In "And All That Murder" Casey, at Dee's requests investiates the
supposed suicide of Dee's friend, Milton, who owns a small Oakland jazz
club. After a second body is found, Casey decides Dee is right – someone may
be targeting people from the jazz community. As more bodies turn up,
Casey follows clues to an Oakland blues club, a Seattle record company,
and a Palm Springs gay escort service, her quest ending in a deadly
encounter with the killer.
In "And All That Sea"Casey’s
relaxing Caribbean jazz cruise is interrupted when “The Countess” goes
missing and the captain asks her to investigate … quietly.
All Casey wanted was to sit on the deck reading novels and possibly
pursue her attraction to Aaron, an intriguing jazz magazine editor. But
she can’t resist a mystery, especially when homicide might be involved.
Ship authorities believe the countess simply overstayed an island stop,
but Casey suspects something a bit more sinister.
Images of the countess flailing in the night sea haunt Casey as she
uncovers several passengers with motives for murder.
Unsure whether the countess is alive or dead, the tenacious PI follows
clues stretching from the seedy underbelly of Saigon to the luxurious
ports of call of the Caribbean, the mystery’s final resolution stunning
even the seasoned investigator.
Ms. Merrlll is
currently writing a third book for the series.
